A 'araaf (Al-A 'araaf)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ Alif-Lam-Mim-Sad. 1 [This is] a Book revealed to you, [O Muhammad] - so let there not be in your breast distress therefrom - that you may warn thereby and as a reminder to the believers. 2 Follow, [O mankind], what has been revealed to you from your Lord and do not follow other than Him any allies. Little do you remember. 3 How many towns have We destroyed (for their sins)? Our punishment took them on a sudden by night or while they slept for their afternoon rest. 4 No plea had they, when Our terror came unto them, save that they said: Lo! We were wrong-doers. 5 Then We will surely question those to whom [a message] was sent, and We will surely question the messengers. 6 Then verily We shall narrate unto them (the event) with knowledge, for We were not absent (when it came to pass). 7 And the weighing will be just on that Day. Then those whose (deeds) are heavier in the balance will find fulfilment, 8 And as for those whose scale is light: those are they who lose their souls because they used to wrong Our revelations. 9 We established you in the earth and made for you a livelihood but little is it that you give thanks. 10
