And to Thamud (people, We sent) their brother Salih (Saleh). He said: "O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. (La ilaha ill-Allah: none has the right to be worshipped but Allah). Indeed there has come to you a clear sign (the miracle of the coming out of a huge she-camel from the midst of a rock) from your Lord. This she-camel of Allah is a sign unto you; so you leave her to graze in Allah's earth, and touch her not with harm, lest a painful torment should seize you. 73 And call to mind when He made you successors after 'Ad and gave you power in the earth so that you took for yourselves palaces in its plains and hewed out dwellings in the mountains. Remember, then, the wondrous bounties of Allah and do not go about creating mischief in the land.' 74 The chiefs of those who were stiff-necked amongst His people said unto those who were counted weak - unto such of them as believed: know ye that Salih is a sent one of his Lord? They said: verily we are believers in that wherewith he hath been sent. 75 The Arrogant party said: "For our part, we reject what ye believe in." 76 So they slew the she-camel and revolted against their Lord's commandment, and they said: O Salih! bring us what you threatened us with, if you are one of the apostles. 77 So the earthquake took them unawares, and they lay prostrate in their homes in the morning! 78 So Salih left them, saying: "O my people! I did indeed convey to you the message for which I was sent by my Lord: I gave you good counsel, but ye love not good counsellors!" 79 Lot told his people, "Why do you commit such indecent acts that have never been committed by anyone before? 80 “You lustfully go towards men, instead of women! In fact, you have transgressed the limits.” 81 And the answer of his people was only that they said: "Drive them out of your town, these are indeed men who want to be pure (from sins)!" 82 Then We delivered him and his household, save his wife: she was among the lingerers. 83 and We rained down upon them a rain. So look how was the end of the evildoers. 84
