Does it not guide the people who inherit the land from former people that We can punish them for their sins if We will? And seal up their hearts so that they would not be able to lend an ear to words of guidance? 100 Such were the towns whose story We (thus) relate unto thee: There came indeed to them their messengers with clear (signs): But they would not believe what they had rejected before. Thus doth Allah seal up the hearts of those who reject faith. 101 We did not find many among them keeping their promises. However, We did find many evil-doers among them. 102 Then, after them, We sent Moses with our tokens unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they repelled them. Now, see the nature of the consequence for the corrupters! 103 Moses said, 'Pharaoh, I am a Messenger from the Lord of all Being, 104 duty-bound to say nothing about God but the truth, and I have brought you a clear sign from your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with me." 105 The Pharaoh asked Moses to show his miracles if he was telling the truth. 106 Then [Musa (Moses)] threw his stick and behold! it was a serpent, manifest! 107 And he drew out his hand; thereupon it was white [with radiance] for the observers. 108
