Do not the people who inherited the earth from the (earlier) inhabitants perceive that We could afflict them too for their sins if We pleased, and put seals on their hearts that they may not hear (the voice of truth)? 100 To those [earlier] communities - some of whose stories We relate to you - there had indeed come Messengers with clear proofs, but they would not believe what they had once rejected as false. Thus it is that Allah seals the hearts of those who deny the truth. 101 And We found no covenant in most of them; and most of them We found ungodly. 102 Then, after them, We sent Moses with our tokens unto Pharaoh and his chiefs, but they repelled them. Now, see the nature of the consequence for the corrupters! 103 And Moses said: 'O Pharaoh! I am a Messenger from the Lord of the universe. 104 One for whom it is right to say nothing but truth about Allah. Now have I come unto you (people), from your Lord, with a clear (Sign): So let the Children of Israel depart along with me." 105 The Pharaoh asked Moses to show his miracles if he was telling the truth. 106 Then Moses threw down his staff and suddenly, unmistakably, it appeared as a serpent, 107 And he drew out his hand, and behold! it was white (with radiance) for the beholders. 108
