Said the Chiefs of the people of Pharaoh: "This is indeed a sorcerer well-versed. 109 who seeks to drive you from your land!" Pharaoh said, "What then do you advise?" 110 They said, 'Put him and his brother off a while, and send among the cities musterers, 111 to bring together at the Pharaohs court all the skillful magicians. 112 And the magicians came to Firaun, and said, “Will we get some reward if we are victorious?” 113 'Yes' he answered, 'and you will be among those near' 114 They said, "O Moses, either you throw [your staff], or we will be the ones to throw [first]." 115 Moses said: 'You throw.' So when they threw [their rods], they enchanted the eyes of the people, and struck them with awe, and produced a mighty sorcery. 116 And We revealed to Musa, saying: Cast your rod; then lo! it devoured the lies they told. 117 ۞ Thus was the Truth vindicated and that which they were doing was made vain. 118 They were therefore defeated here and they turned back humiliated. 119 and the magicians flung themselves prostrate, 120 They said: we believe in the Lord of the worlds. 121 The Lord of Moses and Aaron." 122 Fir'aun (Pharaoh) said: "You have believed in him [Musa (Moses)] before I give you permission. Surely, this is a plot which you have plotted in the city to drive out its people, but you shall come to know. 123 "I will have your hands and feet on alternate sides cut off, and have you all crucified." 124 They answered: "Verily, unto our Sustainer do we turn 125 “And what did you dislike in us, except that we believed in the signs of our Lord when they came to us? Our Lord! Pour (bestow abundantly) patience on us, and bestow us death as Muslims.” 126
