The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ They ask you (O Muhammad SAW) about the spoils of war. Say: "The spoils are for Allah and the Messenger." So fear Allah and adjust all matters of difference among you, and obey Allah and His Messenger (Muhammad SAW), if you are believers. 1 Believers are only they whose hearts tremble with awe whenever God is mentioned, and whose faith is strengthened whenever His messages are conveyed unto them, and who in their Sustainer place their trust 2 Those who keep up prayer and spend (benevolently) out of what We have given them. 3 those are, in truth, the believers. They shall have degrees with their Lord and forgiveness, and a generous provision. 4 EVEN AS thy Sustainer brought thee forth from thy home [to fight] in the cause of the truth, although some of the believers were averse to it, 5 Arguing with you concerning the truth after it had become clear, as if they were being driven toward death while they were looking on. 6 When God promised to grant you (believers) victory over either one of the two groups, you wished to have control over the unarmed one. God decided to prove (to you) the truth of His promises and to destroy the unbelievers 7 In order that He may prove the truth and disprove falsehood, even if the criminals get annoyed. 8 And when you (Prophet Muhammad) prayed to your Lord for help, He answered: 'I am sending to your aid a thousand angels in succession' 9 And Allah made it not but good tidings and so that your hearts would be assured thereby. And victory is not but from Allah. Indeed, Allah is Exalted in Might and Wise. 10
