If they cry lies to thee, then do thou say: 'I have my work, and you have your work; you are quit of What I do, and I am quit of what you do.' 41 And there are those of them who hear you, but can you make the deaf to hear though they will not understand? 42 Some of them look toward you: But can you show the blind the way even when they cannot see? 43 Truly! Allah wrongs not mankind in aught; but mankind wrong themselves. 44 And of the Day whereon He shall gather them, as though they had tarried not save an hour of the day they shall mutually recognize. Lost surely are those who belie the meeting with Allah and they were not such as to be guided. 45 Whether We let you see (during your lifetime) some of the chastisement with which We threaten them, or We call you unto Us (before the chastisement strikes them), in any case they are bound to return to Us. Allah is witness to all what they do. 46 And in every nation was a Noble Messenger (from Allah); so when their Noble Messenger came to them, they were judged with fairness, and they were not wronged. 47 They say, "When will this promise come to pass -- if you speak the truth?" 48 Say: "I have no power over my own gain or loss other than what God may please." Every people have a certain term. When their time is come they can neither delay it an hour nor advance it a moment forward. 49 Say: 'Have you considered? Should His punishment come upon you by night or by day, what (part) of it would the sinners try to hasten' 50 "Would ye then believe in it at last, when it actually cometh to pass? (It will then be said): 'Ah! now? and ye wanted (aforetime) to hasten it on!' 51 "At length will be said to the wrong-doers: 'Taste ye the enduring punishment! ye get but the recompense of what ye earned!'" 52 And they ask you: Is that true? Say: Aye! by my Lord! it is most surely the truth, and you will not escape. 53
