And the king said: Surely I see seven fat kine which seven lean ones devoured; and seven green ears and (seven) others dry: O chiefs! explain to me my dream, if you can interpret the dream. 43 They said: 'They are confused nightmares, nor do we know anything of the interpretation of visions' 44 But the one who was freed and remembered after a time said, "I will inform you of its interpretation, so send me forth." 45 (And when he came to Joseph in the prison, he exclaimed): Joseph! O thou truthful one! Expound for us the seven fat kine which seven lean were eating and the seven green ears of corn and other (seven) dry, that I may return unto the people, so that they may know. 46 [Joseph] said, "You will plant for seven years consecutively; and what you harvest leave in its spikes, except a little from which you will eat. 47 Then there will come seven years of hardship which will consume the grain you had laid up against them, except a little you may have stored away. 48 Then a year will come after that when people will have abundant rain and when once more they will press [wine and oil]." 49
