The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)

286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)

Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Alif-Lam-Mim. 1 This is the Book; in it is guidance sure, without doubt, to those who fear Allah; 2 Who believe in the Unknown and fulfil their devotional obligations, and spend in charity of what We have given them; 3 who believe in what has been sent down to thee and what has been sent down before thee, and have faith in the Hereafter; 4 They are on (true) guidance, from their Lord, and it is these who will prosper. 5 As for those who have rejected (these things), it is all the same to them whether you warn them or do not warn them: they are not going to believe. 6 Allah has sealed their hearts and their ears, and on their eyes is a covering; and for them is a terrible punishment. 7
