The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Alif Lam Mim 1 This is the Book; there is no doubt in it. It is a guide for those who are mindful of God, 2 Who believe in the Ghaib and perform As-Salat (Iqamat-as-Salat), and spend out of what we have provided for them [i.e. give Zakat, spend on themselves, their parents, their children, their wives, etc., and also give charity to the poor and also in Allah's Cause - Jihad, etc.]. 3 And who believe in that which has been revealed to you and that which was revealed before you and they are sure of the hereafter. 4 It is they who are on guidance from their Lord; and they are the successful. 5 As for those who have rejected (these things), it is all the same to them whether you warn them or do not warn them: they are not going to believe. 6 God has sealed their hearts and ears, and veiled their eyes. For them is great deprivation. 7
