The Heifer (Al-Baqarah)
286 verses, revealed in Medina after The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen) before The Spoils of War (Al-Anfaal)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Alif. Lam. Mim. 1 That is the (Holy) Book, where there is no doubt. It is a guidance for the cautious (of evil and Hell). 2 who believe in the unseen, establish the Salats and expend (in Our way) out of what We have bestowed on them; 3 who believe in what has been sent down to thee and what has been sent down before thee, and have faith in the Hereafter; 4 It is the pious who follow the guidance of their Lord and gain lasting happiness. 5 As to those who reject Faith, it is the same to them whether thou warn them or do not warn them; they will not believe. 6 Allah has sealed their hearts and their ears, and on their eyes is a covering; and for them is a terrible punishment. 7
