And call to mind when Abraham prayed: "My Lord! Make this city secure, and keep me and my sons away from worshipping the idols. 35 My Lord, indeed they have led astray many among the people. So whoever follows me - then he is of me; and whoever disobeys me - indeed, You are [yet] Forgiving and Merciful. 36 O Lord! I have settled some of my offspring in an uncultivable valley near Your Sacred House, Lord, so that they might establish their prayers. So, make people's hearts incline towards them and provide them with fruits so that they may be grateful. 37 Our Lord! Lo! Thou knowest that which we hide and that which we proclaim. Nothing in the earth or in the heaven is hidden from Allah. 38 "Praise be to Allah, Who hath granted unto me in old age Isma'il and Isaac: for truly my Lord is He, the Hearer of Prayer! 39 [hence,] O my Sustainer, cause me and [some] of my offspring to remain constant in prayer! "And O our Sustainer, accept this my prayer: 40 "Our Lord! Forgive me and my parents, and (all) the believers on the Day when the reckoning will be established." 41
