The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr)
99 verses, revealed in Mecca after Joseph (Yousuf) before Animals (Al-An 'aam)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ AlifLaamRa. Those are the verses of the Book, the Clear Koran. 1 Soon will the time come when the unbelievers will wish they were Muslims. 2 Let them eat and enjoy themselves and be diverted by [false] hope, for they are going to know. 3 We never destroyed a village whose term had not already been decreed. 4 No people can outstrip the term for its destruction nor can it delay it. 5 They say: 'Thou, upon whom the Remembrance is sent down, thou art assuredly possessed! 6 Why do you not bring down the angels upon us, if you are truthful?" 7 We send not the angels down except for just cause: if they came (to the ungodly), behold! no respite would they have! 8 Surely We have revealed the Reminder and We will most surely be its guardian. 9 And We had certainly sent [messengers] before you, [O Muhammad], among the sects of the former peoples. 10 and never yet came an apostle to them without their deriding him. 11 So We make it enter the hearts of the sinners. 12 who do not believe in it, although the way which those [evildoers] of olden times had to go has long been within their ken. 13 And if We opened upon them a door of the heaven, and they passed the day mounting thereto. 14 They would certainly say: Only our eyes have been covered over, rather we are an enchanted people. 15

كيف تعمل منظومة تمارين الحفظ؟ عند أدنى مستوى 0، تكون كل الكلمات ظاهرة. بينما يُخفي أعلى مستوى 9 كل الكلمات. فكيف تعمل المستويات المتوسطة، مثل 3، على سبيل المثال؟ قد تعتقد بأن المنظومة تخفي 3 من كل تسع كلمات بدقة. ليس تماما! في المستوى 3، لكل كلمة فرصة اختفاء بنسبة 3 من 9، و6 من 9 لتكون ظاهرة. بمعنى آخر، من الممكن، ولكن باحتمال شبة معدوم، أن تكون جميع كلمات المستوى 3 مخفية، أو أن تكون جميعها ظاهرة! وكذلك أيضًا، ففي المستويات المتوسطة، وبما يتناسب مع مستوى الصعوبة، يمكن أن تكون المخابئ غير كاملة أو شفافة جزئيًا بحيث تظهر الكلمات جزئيًا تحتها.
How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
