We created man from sounding clay, from mud moulded into shape; 26 and the jinn created We before of fire flaming. 27 And recall what time thy Lord said unto the angels: verily I am about to create a man from ringing clay of loam moulded. 28 and when I have formed him fully and breathed into him of My spirit, fall down before him in prostration! 29 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 save Iblis; he refused to be among those bowing. 31 (Allah) said: "O Iblis (Satan)! What is your reason for not being among the prostrators?" 32 Iblis replied, "I did not want to prostrate before a human being whom You have created out of mud-moulded clay". 33 Said Allah, “Therefore exit from Paradise, for you are an outcast.” 34 and [My] rejection shall be thy due until the Day of Judgment!" 35 "O my Lord," said he, "give me respite till the day the dead are raised." 36 "You are among the reprieved," (said the Lord), 37 until the day of a known time." 38 (Iblis) said: "O my Lord! because Thou hast put me in the wrong, I will make (wrong) fair-seeming to them on the earth, and I will put them all in the wrong,- 39 "Except Your chosen, (guided) slaves among them." 40 Allah said: "Here is the path that leads straight to Me. 41 No power shall you have over (all) My creatures except those who fall into error and follow you, 42 Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 There are seven gates in it, and to each gate a portion of them has been allotted. 44
