And certainly We created man of clay that gives forth sound, of black mud fashioned in shape. 26 And the jinn, We had created them afore of the fire of the scroching wind. 27 And when thy Lord said to the angels, 'See, I am creating a mortal of a clay of mud moulded. 28 When I have shaped him and ran My created soul in him fall down prostrating towards him'. 29 Therefore all the angels, each and every one of them, fell prostrate. 30 Except Iblees, he refused to be with those who prostrated. 31 He said: O Iblis! what excuse have you that you are not with those who make obeisance? 32 Iblis replied, "I did not want to prostrate before a human being whom You have created out of mud-moulded clay". 33 Allah said: then get thee forth therefrom; verily thou art one damned. 34 and the curse shall be on you till the Day of Judgement!" 35 He said: my Lord! respite me then till the Day whereon they will be raised up. 36 The Lord said, "Your request is granted 37 “Till the Day of a well-known time.” 38 He said: My Lord! Because Thou hast sent me astray, I verily shall adorn the path of error for them in the earth, and shall mislead them every one, 39 except those of Your servants whom You have singled out for Yourself." 40 Said He, 'This is for Me a straight path: 41 "For over My servants no authority shalt thou have, except such as put themselves in the wrong and follow thee." 42 being perverse; Gehenna shall be their promised land all together. 43 To it are seven gates: for each of those gates is a (special) class (of sinners) assigned. 44
