And indeed, We created man from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud. 26 And the Jinn race, We had created before, from the fire of a scorching wind. 27 When your Lord said to the angels: 'See, I am creating a mortal from clay of molded mud. 28 When it is properly shaped and I have blown My Spirit into it, you should then bow down in prostration". 29 Then the angels bowed themselves all together, 30 save Iblis: he refused to be among those who prostrated themselves. 31 Said Allah, “O Iblis! What happened to you that you stayed apart from those who prostrated?” 32 Iblis replied, "I did not want to prostrate before a human being whom You have created out of mud-moulded clay". 33 He said: Then go thou forth from hence, for lo! thou art outcast. 34 and [My] rejection shall be thy due until the Day of Judgment!" 35 He said, "My Lord, then reprieve me until the Day they are resurrected." 36 Said Allah, “You are of those given respite.” 37 Till the Day of the Time known. 38 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Because you misled me, I shall indeed adorn the path of error for them (mankind) on the earth, and I shall mislead them all. 39 Except the chosen ones among Your creatures." 40 (Allah) said: "This is the Way which will lead straight to Me." 41 “Indeed you do not have any power over My bondmen, except those wanderers who follow you.” (The devil is unsuccessful in tempting Allah’s chosen bondmen to commit sin.) 42 And indeed, Hell is the promised place for them all. 43 Which has several gates, and each gate is marked for every section of them." 44
