Verily We created man of potter's clay of black mud altered, 26 And the jinn, We had created them afore of the fire of the scroching wind. 27 And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "I will create a human being out of clay from an altered black mud. 28 Then when I have formed him and breathed into him of My Spirit fall down unto him prostrate. 29 So the angels fell prostrate, all of them together 30 Except Iblis (Satan); he refused to be among those who prostrated. 31 He said: O Iblis! What aileth thee that thou art not among the prostrate? 32 He replied: 'I will not prostrate to a mortal You have created of clay, from molded mud' 33 (Allah) said: "Then get thee out from here; for thou art rejected, accursed. 34 Upon thee shall rest the curse, till the Day of Doom.' 35 He said: 'My Lord, reprieve me till the Day they are raised' 36 Said He, 'Thou art among the ones that are respited 37 Till the period of the time made known. 38 He said, “My Lord! I swear by the fact that You sent me astray, I shall distract them in the earth, and I shall lead all of them astray.” 39 except the devoted amongst Your worshippers. 40 [Allah] said, "This is a path [of return] to Me [that is] straight. 41 Surely, you shall have no power over My true servants, except those misguided ones who choose to follow you. 42 And lo! for all such, hell will be the promised place. 43 with seven gates leading into it, each gate receiving its allotted share of sinners. 44

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
