And We did certainly create man out of clay from an altered black mud. 26 As We fashioned jinns before from intense radiated heat. 27 And when your Lord said to the angels: Surely I am going to create a mortal of the essence of black mud fashioned in shape. 28 And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration." 29 Therefore all the angels, each and every one of them, fell prostrate. 30 save Iblis; he refused to be among those bowing. 31 Said Allah, “O Iblis! What happened to you that you stayed apart from those who prostrated?” 32 He said: I am not such that I should make obeisance to a mortal whom Thou hast created of the essence of black mud fashioned in shape. 33 [Allah] said, "Then get out of it, for indeed, you are expelled. 34 “And indeed you are accursed till the Day of Judgement.” 35 Said [Iblis]: "Then, O my Sustainer, grant me a respite till the Day when all shall be raised from the dead!" 36 Allah said: "For sure you are granted respite 37 for an appointed time." 38 (satan) said: 'My Lord, for Your perverting me, I shall make (matters) in the earth seem most fair to them and I shall pervert all, 39 Except Thy servants from among them, the devoted ones. 40 (To which God) said: "This way is right by Me. 41 verily, thou shalt have no power over My creatures - unless it be such as are [already] lost in grievous error and follow thee [of their own will]: 42 And verily Hell is the place promised unto them all. 43 There are seven gates in it, and to each gate a portion of them has been allotted. 44
