Man We fashioned from fermented clay dried tingling hard, 26 and the jinn before (the human being) of smokeless fire. 27 Recall when your Lord said to the angels: "I will indeed bring into being a human being out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud. 28 When I have completed shaping him and have breathed into him of My Spirit, then fall you down before him in prostration." 29 So, the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 Save Iblis. He refused to be among the prostrate. 31 Said He: "O Iblis! What is thy reason for not being among those who have prostrated themselves?" 32 He said it was not for me that I should prostrate myself unto a human being whom Thou hast created from ringing clay of loam moulded. 33 God told him, "Get out of the garden; you are rejected 34 And lo! the curse shall be upon thee till the Day of Judgment. 35 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day they (the dead) will be resurrected." 36 Allah said: verily then thou art of the respited: 37 Till the period of the time made known. 38 "O my Lord," he said, "since You have led me into error I'll beguile them with the pleasures of the world and lead them astray, 39 except Your sincere servants". 40 (Allah) said: "This (way of My sincere servants) is indeed a way that leads straight to Me. 41 Lo! as for My slaves, thou hast no power over any of them save such of the froward as follow thee, 42 being perverse; Gehenna shall be their promised land all together. 43 It has seven gates; for every gate there shall be a separate party of them. 44
