And assuredly We have created human being from ringing clay of loam moulded. 26 And the jinn, We created aforetime from the smokeless flame of fire. 27 Recall when your Lord said to the angels: "I will indeed bring into being a human being out of dry ringing clay wrought from black mud. 28 And when I have proportioned him and breathed into him of My [created] soul, then fall down to him in prostration." 29 So, the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together. 30 Except Iblis. He refused to bow with the adorers. 31 He said: O Iblis! what excuse have you that you are not with those who make obeisance? 32 He replied, "I am not one to prostrate myself to a man whom You have created out of a clay of moulded mud." 33 God said, "Then get out of here; for you are accursed, 34 and will be subjected to condemnation until the Day of Judgment." 35 Said he, 'My Lord, respite me till the day they shall be raised.' 36 Allah said: "Then, verily, you are of those reprieved, 37 till that Appointed Day." 38 [Iblees] said, "My Lord, because You have put me in error, I will surely make [disobedience] attractive to them on earth, and I will mislead them all 39 Except the chosen ones among Your creatures." 40 God said, "The path which leads to Me is a straight 41 verily, thou shalt have no power over My creatures - unless it be such as are [already] lost in grievous error and follow thee [of their own will]: 42 And indeed hell is the promise for all of them. 43 It has seven gates, and through each gate a portion of them belong. 44
