We created man out of dry clay, from moulded mud, 26 and the jinn created We before of fire flaming. 27 And (remember) when your Lord said to the angels: "I am going to create a man (Adam) from sounding clay of altered black smooth mud. 28 "So, when I have fashioned him completely and breathed into him (Adam) the soul which I created for him, then fall (you) down prostrating yourselves unto him." 29 All the angels prostrated before Adam 30 Except Iblis (Satan), - he refused to be among the prostrators. 31 (Allah) said: "O Iblis! what is your reason for not being among those who prostrated themselves?" 32 He replied, "I am not one to prostrate myself to a man whom You have created out of a clay of moulded mud." 33 Said Allah, “Therefore exit from Paradise, for you are an outcast.” 34 And surely on you is curse until the day of judgment. 35 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "O my Lord! Give me then respite till the Day they (the dead) will be resurrected." 36 (Allah) said: "Respite is granted thee 37 Until the Day of the time well-known." 38 He said: My Lord! because Thou hast made life evil to me, I will certainly make (evil) fair-seeming to them on earth, and I will certainly cause them all to deviate 39 Except Thy servants from among them, the devoted ones. 40 He said: This is a right way with Me: 41 over My worshipers you have no authority, except the perverse that follow you. 42 For whom the ordained place is surely Hell, 43 It has seven gates; for every gate there shall be a separate party of them. 44
