And when the messengers came unto the family of Lot, 61 He said: verily ye are a people stranger. 62 They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing, 63 We have come to you for a genuine purpose and We are true in what we say. 64 "Then travel by night with thy household, when a portion of the night (yet remains), and do thou bring up the rear: let no one amongst you look back, but pass on whither ye are ordered." 65 And [through Our messengers] We revealed unto him this decree: "The last remnant of those [sinners] shall be wiped out in the morn." 66 And the people of the city came rejoicing. (* To the house of Prophet Lut.) 67 [Lot] said, "Indeed, these are my guests, so do not shame me. 68 And keep your duty to Allah, and shame me not! 69 They said; Have we not forbidden you from (entertaining) anyone? 70 He said, “These women of our tribe are my daughters, if you have to.” 71 Verily, by thy life (O Prophet), in their wild intoxication, they wander in distraction, to and fro. 72 Therefore the scream overcame them at sunrise. 73 and We turned it uppermost nethermost and rained on it stones of baked clay. 74 Indeed in this are signs for people who perceive. 75 Indeed, it is on a way which still exists. 76 Surely, in that there is a sign for those who believe. 77 AND THE DWELLERS of the wooded dales [of Madyan, too,] were inveterate evildoers, 78 So, We took vengeance on them. They are both on an open highway, plain to see. 79
