And when the messengers came to the family of Lot, 61 He said: "Verily! You are people unknown to me." 62 They said: "Nay, we have brought to you that concerning which they have been in doubt. 63 and we have come to you with the truth, and surely we are truthful, 64 “Therefore journey with your household while a portion of the night remains, and you tread behind them – and none of you may turn around and see, and proceed directly to the place you are commanded to.” 65 And We informed him the decision of this command, that at morning the root of the disbelievers would be cut off. 66 And there came the people of the city rejoicing 67 Lut said: "These are my guests: disgrace me not: 68 And keep your duty to Allah, and shame me not! 69 They replied: 'Have we not forbidden you (the people of) the worlds' 70 "Here are my daughters," said Lot, "if you are so active." 71 By your life, they wandered blindly in their dazzlement. 72 So the shriek seized them at sunrise. 73 Thus did We turn it upside down, and rained down upon them stones of what had been decreed. 74 Verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 75 surely it is on a way yet remaining; 76 Surely! Therein is indeed a sign for the believers. 77 And the dwellers of the thicket also were most surely unjust. 78 So We took vengeance on them. Both are still there on the highway, plain for all to see. 79
