Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 He said: verily ye are a people stranger. 62 They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing, 63 "And we have brought to you the truth (the news of the destruction of your nation) and certainly, we tell the truth. 64 Go, then, with thy household while it is yet night, with thyself following them in the rear; and let none of you look back, but proceed whither you are bidden." 65 And We made known to him this decree that the wrongdoers were to be utterly cut off in the morning. 66 And the people of the city came, rejoicing at the news (of new arrivals). 67 He said: verily these are my guests, so disgrace me not. 68 And fear Allah and do not disgrace me." 69 They said, "Have we not forbidden you from [protecting] people?" 70 He said, "Here are my daughters, if you must act in this way." 71 Verily by your life they were utterly confused in their (lustful) drunkenness. 72 But the (mighty) Blast overtook them before morning, 73 And We turned the city upside down, and rained on them stones of hardened lava. 74 Herein are really signs for those who discern. 75 And surely it is on a road that still abides. 76 Verily, herein lies a message indeed for all who believe [in God]. 77 And the dwellers in the wood indeed were evil-doers. 78 So We exacted retribution from them. They were both on an open highway, plain to see. 79
