So when the apostles came to Lut's followers, 61 He said: "Ye appear to be uncommon folk." 62 They said, "No, but we bring you news about what they disputed, 63 "Yet we bring to you the truth, and we are truthful. 64 Therefore go forth with your followers in a part of the night and yourself follow their rear, and let not any one of you turn round, and go forth whither you are commanded. 65 And We made plain the case to him, that the root of them (who did wrong) was to be cut at early morn. 66 And the people of the city came [unto Lot,] rejoicing at the glad tiding. 67 He said, 'These are my guests; put me not to shame, 68 And fear Allah and do not disgrace me." 69 They said: Have we not forbidden you from (other) people? 70 [Lot] said: "[Take instead] these daughters of mine, if you must do [whatever you intend to do]!" 71 By your life, they wandered on in their wild intoxication 72 So the shriek seized them at sunrise. 73 And We utterly confounded them, and We rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 Verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 75 it is still there on the highway -- 76 Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers. 77 Since the People of the Forest were unjust, 78 So We chastised them. The desolate locations of both communities lie on a well-known highway. 79
