Then when the sent ones entered unto the household of Lut. 61 he said: "Behold, you are people unknown [here]!" 62 "We have come to you with news," they said, "of what your people doubt; 63 And we have brought unto thee the truth, and verily we say sooth. 64 Leave the town with your family sometime during the night. Walk behind them and let no one turn around. Proceed as you are commanded." 65 And We made known this decree to him, that the last remnants of those (sinners) should be cut off by the morning. 66 The people of the town rejoicingly 67 He said: verily these are my guests, so disgrace me not. 68 and fear God, and do not degrade me.' 69 They said: forbade we not thee against the worlds? 70 [Lot] said, "These are my daughters - if you would be doers [of lawful marriage]." 71 Verily, by thy life (O Prophet), in their wild intoxication, they wander in distraction, to and fro. 72 So As-Saihah (torment - awful cry, etc.) overtook them at the time of sunrise; 73 We turned the town upside down and rained upon them stones of clay. 74 Surely, in that there are signs for those who contemplate. 75 That town lies on a road which still exists. 76 In this there is evidence (of the Truth) for the believers. 77 The dwellers of the Wood (near Midian) were also wicked. 78 So We punished them too. They are both situated by the highway, clearly visible. 79
