▼ 15 The Hijjr Valley
Al-Hijjr 6 of 6
The people of Al-Hijr denied Our apostles; 80 And We brought Our signs unto them, yet they were averting themselves therefrom. 81 notwithstanding that they had been wont [to enjoy Our blessings and] to hew out dwellings from the mountains, [wherein they could live] in security 82 But the (Awful) Cry overtook them at the morning hour, 83 and of no avail to them was all [the power] that they had acquired. 84 And We have not created the heavens and earth and that between them except in truth. And indeed, the Hour is coming; so forgive with gracious forgiveness. 85 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-creator, the All-knowing. 86 And certainly We have given you seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the grand Quran. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 And proclaim, “Indeed I, yes I, am the clear Herald of Warning.” 89 even as We had sent warning to those who had divided their religion into fragments; 90 Those who break the Qur'an into parts. 91 So by your Lord, We will surely question them all 92 About their deeds. 93 Therefore proclaim openly (Allah's Message Islamic Monotheism) that which you are commanded, and turn away from Al-Mushrikun (polytheists, idolaters, and disbelievers, etc. - see V. 2:105). 94 Surely We will suffice you against the scoffers 95 and those who set up other gods with Allah, indeed, they will soon know. 96 We certainly know that you feel sad about what they say against you. 97 But glorify your Lord with His praise, and prostrate yourself: 98 And go on worshipping your Lord till the certainty (of death) comes upon you. 99

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
