▼ 15 The Hijjr Valley
Al-Hijjr 6 of 6
People of Hijr rejected the Messengers. 80 And We gave them Our Signs, but they were averse to them. 81 And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure. 82 But the shriek seized them at early morning. 83 And all that they had done (for security) availed them nothing. 84 We created not the heavens, the earth, and all between them, but for just ends. And the Hour is surely coming (when this will be manifest). So overlook (any human faults) with gracious forgiveness. 85 Surely your Lord is the Creator of all things, the Knowing. 86 And certainly We have given you seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the grand Quran. 87 [so] turn, not thine eyes [longingly] towards the worldly benefits which We have granted unto some of those [that deny the truth]. And neither grieve over those [who refuse to heed thee,] but spread the wings of thy tenderness over the believers, 88 and say: "Behold, I am indeed the plain warner [promised by God]! 89 such as We send down for those who are divisive, 90 those who had split up their Qur'an into pieces. 91 Therefore, by your Lord, We shall question every one of them. 92 About their deeds. 93 Therefore publicly announce what you are commanded, and turn away from the polytheists. 94 verily, We shall suffice thee against all who [now] deride [this message - all] 95 even against those who set up with God another god. Certainly they will soon know! 96 Well know We that thy bosom is oppressed by what they say, 97 So glorify the praises of your Lord and be of those who prostrate themselves (to Him). 98 And serve your Lord until there comes to you that which is certain. 99

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
