And the dwellers of the Rock certainly rejected the apostles; 80 And though We had given them Our signs they turned away from them. 81 They carved out dwellings in the mountains, and lived in security -- 82 An explosion struck them in the morning. 83 So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn. 84 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them two but in truth; and the hour is most surely coming, so turn away with kindly forgiveness. 85 Verify thy Lord! He is the Great Creator, the Knower. 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur'an. 87 Do not stretch your eyes to that We have given pairs of them to enjoy, nor sorrow for them, and lower your wing to the believers. 88 And proclaim, “Indeed I, yes I, am the clear Herald of Warning.” 89 (Of just such wrath) as We sent down on those who divided (Scripture into arbitrary parts),- 90 Those who break the Qur'an into parts. 91 by your Lord, We shall question them all 92 About their deeds. 93 Proclaim then, what you are commanded and turn away from the unbelievers. 94 Lo! We defend thee from the scoffers, 95 Who set up along with Allah another ilah (god), they will come to know. 96 And well do We know that thy bosom is constricted by the [blasphemous] things that they say: 97 When (you feel so) glorify your Lord with His praise and prostrate yourself before Him, 98 And worship your Lord until there comes unto you the certainty (i.e. death). 99
