And certainly did the companions of Thamud deny the messengers. 80 We brought them Our signs, and they turned away from them. 81 And they used to carve dwellings in the hills, without fear. 82 and so the blast [of Our punishment] overtook them at early morn, 83 and whatever they had been earning proved of no avail. 84 We have created the heavens and the earth and all that is between them, for a genuine purpose. The Day of Judgment will certainly approach, so (Muhammad) forgive them graciously. 85 Verify thy Lord! He is the Great Creator, the Knower. 86 AND, INDEED, We have bestowed upon thee seven of the oft repeated [verses,] and [have, thus, laid open before thee] this sublime Qur'an: 87 Do not strain your eyes towards the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some of them, nor grieve on their account. Lower your wing of mercy for the believers 88 And say: "I am indeed he that warneth openly and without ambiguity,"- 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 who have broken the Koran into parts, 91 so by your Lord, We will question them all 92 About all what they used to do. 93 Proclaim openly what you are commanded, and avoid the polytheists. 94 We shall help you against those who mock you 95 even against those who set up with God another god. Certainly they will soon know! 96 And surely We know that your breast straitens at what they say; 97 Exalt with the praise of your Lord and be one of those who prostrate. 98 and serve thy Lord, until the Certain comes to thee. 99
