And certainly did the companions of Thamud deny the messengers. 80 And we gave them Our revelations, but they were averse to them. 81 They were hewing the mountains into houses, therein dwelling securely; 82 But they were seized by the mighty blast towards the morning; 83 And all that they had done (for security) availed them nothing. 84 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them two but in truth; and the hour is most surely coming, so turn away with kindly forgiveness. 85 Your Lord is indeed the Creator of all, the All-Knowing. 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated (verses) and the great Qur'an. 87 Do not direct your eyes towards the things We have given to some of their couples to enjoy, and do not at all grieve because of them, and take the Muslims within the folds of your mercy. 88 And say: Lo! I, even I, am a plain warner, 89 [For, thou art the bearer of a divine writ] such as We have bestowed from on high upon those who [afterwards] broke it up into parts, 90 Those who broke the Word of Allah into several parts. (Those who broke the Torah / Bible or changed its text – or those who called the Qur’an a fabrication / poetry.) 91 So, by your Lord (O Muhammad SAW), We shall certainly call all of them to account. 92 concerning what they have been doing. 93 Therefore expound openly what thou art commanded, and turn away from those who join false gods with Allah. 94 We are surely sufficient to deal with those who scoff at you, 95 and believe other things to be equal to God. They will soon know the truth. 96 Indeed, We know your chest is straitened by that they say. 97 Therefore proclaim the Purity of your Lord with praise, and be of those who prostrate. 98 And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death). 99
