AND, [likewise,] indeed, the people of Al-Hijr gave the lie to [Our] message-bearers: 80 We sent them Our Signs, but they persisted in turning away from them. 81 And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure. 82 and the Cry seized them in the morning; 83 Therefore their earnings did not in the least benefit them. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth and all that is between them save with truth, and lo! the Hour is surely coming. So forgive, (O Muhammad), with a gracious forgiveness. 85 Verily, your Lord is the All-Knowing Creator. 86 And We have bestowed upon thee the Seven Oft-repeated (verses) and the Grand Qur'an. 87 Do not yearn for other people's property and wives and do not grieve (that they do not believe). Be kind to the believers. 88 And say: 'I am the plain warner' 89 Even as We sent down on the dividers 90 who have broken the Koran into parts, 91 by your Lord, We shall question them all 92 About what they used to do. 93 So proclaim that which thou art commanded, and withdraw from the idolaters. 94 We are surely sufficient to deal with those who scoff at you, 95 Who set up along with Allah another god; presently they shall know. 96 We certainly know that their statements sorely grieve you. 97 Exalt with the praise of your Lord and be one of those who prostrate. 98 And worship thy Lord until there cometh unto thee the certainty. 99
God the Almighty always says the truth.
End of Surah: The Hijjr Valley (Al-Hijjr). Sent down in Mecca after Joseph (Yousuf) before Animals (Al-An 'aam)
