And the dwellers of Al Hijr also belied the Messengers. 80 And we gave them Our revelations, but they were averse to them. 81 They hewed their dwellings out of the mountains in safety. 82 Then the shout took hold of them in the early morn. 83 So nothing availed them [from] what they used to earn. 84 We created not the heavens and the earth, and all that is between them, save in truth. Surely the Hour is coming; so pardon thou, with a gracious pardoning. 85 Your Lord is the Creator, the Knower. 86 We have given you the seven dual (verses, Al Fatihah) and the Mighty Holy Reading (Koran). 87 Do not strain your eyes towards the worldly benefits We have bestowed on some of them, nor grieve on their account. Lower your wing of mercy for the believers 88 and say: "Behold, I am indeed the plain warner [promised by God]! 89 [For, thou art the bearer of a divine writ] such as We have bestowed from on high upon those who [afterwards] broke it up into parts, 90 And severed their Scripture into fragments. 91 Them, by thy Lord, We shall question, every one, 92 For all that they used to do. 93 (O Prophet), proclaim what you are commanded, and pay no heed to those who associate others with Allah in His Divinity. 94 Indeed, We are sufficient for you against the mockers 95 and believe other things to be equal to God. They will soon know the truth. 96 We are well aware that you are disheartened by what they say. 97 So exalt [Allah] with praise of your Lord and be of those who prostrate [to Him]. 98 And worship your Lord until there comes to you the certainty (death). 99
