And the dwellers in Al-Hijr denied (Our) messengers. 80 We showed them miracles but they ignored them. 81 And they used to carve from the mountains, houses, feeling secure. 82 But the shriek seized them at early morning. 83 that they earned did not avail them. 84 And We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them two but in truth; and the hour is most surely coming, so turn away with kindly forgiveness. 85 For verily it is thy Lord who is the Master-Creator, knowing all things. 86 And We have bestowed upon thee the Seven Oft-repeated (verses) and the Grand Qur'an. 87 So covet not things We have bestowed on a portion of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and protect those who believe; 88 And proclaim, “Indeed I, yes I, am the clear Herald of Warning.” 89 So We sent it down to the partitioners, 90 [and] who [now] declare this Qur'an to be [a tissue of] falsehoods! 91 Therefore, by the Lord, We will, of a surety, call them to account, 92 As to what they did. 93 Promulgate thou that which thou art commanded, and turn away from the associaters. 94 We will, surely, suffice you against those who mock, 95 Who place other gods besides God. They will come to know soon. 96 Indeed, We know your chest is straitened by that they say. 97 but extol thou thy Sustainer's limitless glory and praise Him, and be of those who prostrate themselves [before Him] in adoration, 98 and worship thy Sustainer till death comes to thee. 99
