۞ Thy Lord hath decreed, that ye worship none save Him, and (that ye show) kindness to parents. If one of them or both of them attain old age with thee, say not "Fie" unto them nor repulse them, but speak unto them a gracious word. 23 And lower unto them the wing of submission and humility through mercy, and say: "My Lord! Bestow on them Your Mercy as they did bring me up when I was small." 24 Your Lord knows very well what is in your hearts. If you are good, He is forgiving to those who are penitent. 25 And give the relative his right, and [also] the poor and the traveler, and do not spend wastefully. 26 Behold, the squanderers are, indeed, of the ilk of the satans - inasmuch as Satan has indeed proved most ungrateful to his Sustainer. 27 but if, while waiting for your Lord's bounty which you are expecting, you turn them down, then at least speak to them kindly. 28 Do not be niggardly, nor extravagant that you may later feel reprehensive and constrained. 29 Certainly your Lord provides with open hands whosoever He will, but according to capacity, for He knows and watches His creatures. 30
