And do not kill your children for fear of poverty; We give them sustenance and yourselves (too); surely to kill them is a great wrong. 31 And go not nigh to fornication; surely it is an indecency and an evil way. 32 And do not take a life, which God has forbidden, except in a just cause. We have given the right (of redress) to the heir of the person who is killed, but he should not exceed the limits (of justice) by slaying (the killer), for he will be judged (by the same law). 33 And do not touch the property of the orphans except for bettering it, until they come of age; and fulfil the promise made: You will surely be questioned about the promise. 34 Give full measure, when you measure, and weigh with accurate scales. That is fair, and better in the end. 35 And follow not (O man i.e., say not, or do not or witness not, etc.) that of which you have no knowledge (e.g. one's saying: "I have seen," while in fact he has not seen, or "I have heard," while he has not heard). Verily! The hearing, and the sight, and the heart, of each of those you will be questioned (by Allah). 36 And walk not in the earth exultantly; certainly thou wilt never tear the earth open, nor attain the mountains in height. 37 Of all such things the evil is hateful in the sight of thy Lord. 38 That is part of the wisdom your Lord has revealed to you. So do not set up any deity beside Allah lest you are cast into Hell, rebuked and deprived of every good. 39 Has your Lord chosen sons for you, and created daughters for Himself from among the angels? Indeed you utter a profound word! 40
