They will question thee concerning the Spirit. Say: 'The Spirit is of the bidding of my Lord. You have been given of knowledge nothing except a little.' 85 And if We please, We should certainly take away that which We have revealed to you, then you would not find for it any protector against Us. 86 except by the mercy of your Lord. He has certainly bestowed great favors on you. 87 Say: Verily, though mankind and the jinn should assemble to produce the like of this Qur'an, they could not produce the like thereof though they were helpers one of another. 88 We have explained things for people in this Qur'an in diverse ways to make them understand the Message, yet most people obstinately persist in unbelief. 89 And they say: we shall by no means believe in thee until thou causest for us to gush forth from the earth a fountain. 90 Or thou have a garden of date-palms and grapes, and cause rivers to gush forth therein abundantly; 91 Or you should cause the heaven to come down upon us in pieces as you think, or bring Allah and the angels face to face (with us). 92 Or thou have a house of gold; or thou ascend up into heaven, and even then we will put no faith in thine ascension till thou bring down for us a book that we can read. Say (O Muhammad): My Lord be Glorified! Am I aught save a mortal messenger? 93
