And assuredly We vouchsafed unto Musa nine manifest signs - ask thou the Children of Israel - so when he came unto them, Fir'awn said unto him, verily I imagine thee, O Musa! enchanted. 101 He said: In truth thou knowest that none sent down these (portents) save the Lord of the heavens and the earth as proofs, and lo! (for my part) I deem thee lost, O Pharaoh. 102 So he resolved to scare them out of the land: but We drowned him along with all those who were with him. 103 And We said to the Children of Israel after him: "Dwell in the land, then, when the final and the last promise comes near [i.e. the Day of Resurrection or the descent of Christ ['Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary) on the earth]. We shall bring you altogether as mixed crowd (gathered out of various nations). [Tafsir Al-Qurtubi, Vol. 10, Page 338] 104 AND AS a guide towards the truth have We bestowed this [revelation] from on high; with this [very] truth has it come down [unto thee, O Prophet]: for We have sent thee but as a herald of glad tidings and a warner, 105 And We sent down the Qur’an in parts, that you may gradually recite it to the people, and We sent it down slowly in stages. 106 Say, "Believe in it or do not believe. Indeed, those who were given knowledge before it - when it is recited to them, they fall upon their faces in prostration, 107 And they say, “Purity is to our Lord – indeed the promise of our Lord had to come true.” 108 And they fall down on their chins weeping, and it increaseth them in humility. ۩ 109 Say to them (O Prophet!): "Call upon Him as Allah or call upon Him as al-Rahman; call Him by whichever name you will, all His names are beautiful. Neither offer your Prayer in too loud a voice, nor in a voice too low; but follow a middle course." 110 and say: "All praise is due to God, who begets no offspring, and has no partner in His dominion, and has no weakness, and therefore no need of any aid" - and [thus] extol His limitless greatness. 111
