The Cave (Al-Kahf)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Praise be to God who has sent down to His servant -- the Book, which is free from any ambiguity 1 Immutable, so that it may warn of a severe punishment from Him; and give happy tidings to those who believe and do the right that there is a better reward (of Paradise) for them, 2 wherein they shall abide for ever; 3 Further, that He may warn those (also) who say, "Allah hath begotten a son": 4 They do not have any knowledge of it – nor did their forefathers; profound is the word that comes out of their mouths; they only speak a lie. 5 But wouldst thou, perhaps, torment thyself to death with grief over them if they are not willing to believe in this message? 6 We have made whatever exists on the earth its adornment to test and try them (and) know who acts better; 7 And lo! We shall make all that is thereon a barren mound. 8 Or dost thou think the Men of the Cave and Er-Rakeem were among Our signs a wonder? 9 When those youths sought refuge in the Cave and said: "Our Lord! Grant us mercy from Yourself and provide for us rectitude in our affairs." 10 We sealed off their ears in the cave for a number of years, 11 Then We roused them, in order to test which of the two parties was best at calculating the term of years they had tarried! 12
