They started their journey and some time latter they embarked in a boat in which he made a hole. Moses asked him, "Did you make the hole to drown the people on board? This is certainly very strange". 71 Said he, 'Did I not say that thou couldst never bear with me patiently?' 72 (Moses) said: Be not wroth with me that I forgot, and be not hard upon me for my fault. 73 So they set out again; until when they met a boy, the chosen bondman slew him – Moosa said, “Did you slay an innocent soul not in retribution for another? You have indeed done an extremely evil thing.” 74 ۞ He responded, "Did I not tell you that you will not be able to remain patient with me?" 75 Musa said: if I ask thee regarding aught after this, company not with me; surely there hath reached to thee from my side an excuse. 76 So they departed; until, when they reached the people of a city, they asked the people for food, but they refused to receive them hospitably. There they found a wall about to tumble down, and so he set it up. He said, 'If thou hadst wished, thou couldst have taken a wage for that.' 77 He said: this shall be the parting between me and thee; now I shall declare unto thee the interpretation of that wherewith thou wast not able to have patience. 78 As for the ship, it belonged to poor people working at sea. So I intended to cause defect in it as there was after them a king who seized every [good] ship by force. 79 "And as for the boy, his parents were believers, and we feared lest he should oppress them by rebellion and disbelief. 80 So we desired that their Lord might give them in his place one better than him in purity and nearer to having compassion. 81 And as for the wall, it belonged to two orphan boys in the city, and there was beneath it a treasure belonging to them, and their father was a righteous man; so your Lord desired that they should attain their maturity and take out their treasure, a mercy from your Lord, and I did not do it of my own accord. This is the significance of that with which you could not have patience. 82
