WITH ALL THIS, man [often] says, "What! Once I am dead, shall I again be brought forth alive?" 66 Does he not remember that We created him when he did not exist? 67 And, by thy Lord, verily We shall assemble them and the devils, then We shall bring them, crouching, around hell. 68 from every party We will pluck out whichever of them was the most hardened in disdain of the Most Merciful. 69 for, indeed, We know best as to which of them is most deserving of the fires of hell. 70 And there is none of you except he will come to it. This is upon your Lord an inevitability decreed. 71 We shall then rescue the pious – and leave the unjust in it, fallen on their knees. 72 When Our revelations are recited to them, the unbelievers say to the faithful ones, "Which of us is more prosperous?" 73 And how many a generation have We destroyed before these, who were goodlier in goods and outward appearance? 74 Say: As for him who remains in error, the Beneficent Allah will surely prolong his length of days, until they see what they were threatened with, either the punishment or the hour; then they shall know who is in more evil plight and weaker in forces 75 (On the contrary), Allah increases in guidance those who follow the Right Way. Lasting acts of righteousness are better in the sight of your Lord as reward and conducive to a better end. 76 Hast thou seen him who disbelieveth in Our revelations and saith: Assuredly I shall be given wealth and children? 77 Hath he looked unto the Unseen, or hath he taken of the Compassionate a covenant? 78 By no means! We shall write down that which he saith; and We shall lengthen for him of the torment a length. 79 All that he speaks of will belong to Us, and he will come into Our presence all alone. 80 For [such as] these have taken to worshipping deities other than God, hoping that they would be a [source of] strength for them. 81 Nay, but they (the so-called gods) will deny their worship of them, and become opponents to them (on the Day of Resurrection). 82
