Do you not see that We have appointed devils to incite those who deny the truth to disobedience? 83 So hasten thou not against them; We are only numbering for them a number. 84 The Day will surely come when We shall gather the God-fearing like [honoured] guests before the Compassionate God 85 and We shall drive the sinful like a thirsty herd into Hell. 86 having no power of intercession, save those who have taken with the All-merciful covenant. 87 And they say: "The Most Beneficent (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring or children) [as the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say that He has begotten a son ['Iesa (Christ)], and the pagan Arabs say that He has begotten daughters (angels, etc.)]." 88 This is certainly a monstrous lie! 89 The heavens are close to being torn apart by it, and the earth being split asunder, and the mountains succumbing and falling down. 90 because they ascribe a son to the Gracious One. 91 But it is not suitable for (the Majesty of) the Most Beneficent (Allah) that He should beget a son (or offspring or children). 92 There is no one in the heavens and the earth but will come to the Beneficent Allah as a servant. 93 Verily He knoweth them and numbereth them with (right) numbering. 94 Every one of them will come before Him all alone on the Day of Resurrection. 95 To the righteously striving believers God will grant love. 96 So We have only made it easy in your tongue that you may give good news thereby to those who guard (against evil) and warn thereby a vehemently contentious people. 97 But how many (countless) generations before them have We destroyed? Canst thou find a single one of them (now) or hear (so much as) a whisper of them? 98
