Seest thou not that We have set the devils on the disbelievers to confound them with confusion? 83 Therefore be not in haste against them, We only number out to them a number (of days). 84 and on the Day when We will ceremonially gather the righteous to the Merciful, 85 And drive the guilty towards hell, thirsty. 86 who have no power of intercession, except those who have taken a covenant with the Merciful. 87 And the disbelievers said, “The Most Gracious has chosen an offspring.” 88 Certainly you have made an abominable assertion 89 Well-nigh the heavens are rent thereat and the earth cleft in sunder and the mountains fall down in pieces. 90 that they have attributed to the All-merciful a son; 91 But it is not suitable for (the Majesty of) the Most Beneficent (Allah) that He should beget a son (or offspring or children). 92 Not one of the beings in the heavens and the earth but must come to (Allah) Most Gracious as a servant. 93 He knows their number and has counted each one of them. 94 And each of them is to come to Him on the Day of Judgment alone. 95 Surely those who believe and do deeds of righteousness -- unto them the All-merciful shall assign love. 96 and only to this end have We made this [divine writ] easy to understand, in thine own tongue, [O Prophet,] so that thou might convey thereby a glad tiding to the God-conscious, and warn thereby those who are given to [futile] contention: 97 And many a generation We did destroy before them; do you see any one of them or hear their faintest sound? 98
