T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta Ha 1 We have not revealed unto thee (Muhammad) this Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed, 2 But only as a reminder for those who fear [Allah] - 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens. 4 The Beneficent One, Who is established on the Throne. 5 Unto Him belongs all that is in the heavens and all that is on earth, as well as all that is between them and all that is beneath the sod. 6 Whether you say a thing aloud or inaudibly, He has knowledge of the secret and the hidden. 7 God is the only Lord and to Him belong all the exalted Names. 8 Hath there come unto thee the story of Musa? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his wife, “Wait – I have seen a fire – perhaps I may bring you an ember from it or find a way upon the fire.” 10 And when he reached it, he was called by name: O Moses! 11 Indeed, I am your Lord, so remove your sandals. Indeed, you are in the sacred valley of Tuwa. 12 and I have chosen thee [to be My apostle]: listen, then, to what is being revealed [unto thee]. 13 Verily I! I am Allah! no God there is but I; so worship Me, and establish prayer for My remembrance. 14 The Hour is coming. But I choose to keep it hidden, so that every human being may be recompensed in accordance with his labours. 15 Therefore let not him who believes not in it and follows his low desires turn you away from it so that you should perish; 16 And what is this in your right hand, O Musa! 17 He said: "This is my stick, whereon I lean, and wherewith I beat down branches for my sheep, and wherein I find other uses." 18 [Allah] said, "Throw it down, O Moses." 19 He cast it down, and behold! It was a snake, moving quickly. 20 God said, "Take hold of it, and have no fear: We shall return it to its former state. 21 "Now draw thy hand close to thy side: It shall come forth white (and shining), without harm (or stain),- as another Sign,- 22 That We may show thee (some) of Our greater portents, 23 Go to Pharaoh; he has transgressed all bounds." 24
