T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 We have not Sent down on thee the Qur'an that thou shouldst be distressed. 2 But only as an admonition to those who fear (Allah),- 3 a revelation from Him who has created the earth and the high heavens 4 The Beneficent One, Who is established on the Throne. 5 To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, and whatever lies in between them, and all that lies under the ground. 6 And if thou say anything aloud, [He hears it] since, behold, He knows [even] the secret [thoughts of man] as well as all that is yet more hidden [within him]. 7 God: There is no god but He. To Him belong the attributes most beautiful. 8 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 9 When he saw a fire and said to his family, "Stay here; indeed, I have perceived a fire; perhaps I can bring you a torch or find at the fire some guidance." 10 So when he came near the fire, it was announced, “O Moosa!” 11 I am thy Lord; put off thy shoes; thou art in the holy valley, Towa. 12 I Myself have chosen thee; therefore give thou ear to this revelation. 13 Verily I am God; there is no god but I; therefore serve Me, and perform the prayer of My remembrance. 14 Verily the Hour (of the great change) is about to come. I keep it secret that every soul may be rewarded for its endeavour. 15 “Therefore never let one, who does not accept faith in it and follows his own desires, prevent you from accepting this, so then you become ruined.” 16 The Lord asked, "Moses, what is in your right hand?" 17 He said: This is my staff: I recline on it and I beat the leaves with it to make them fall upon my sheep, and I have other uses for it. 18 (Allah) said, "Throw it, O Moses!" 19 He cast it down, and behold! It was a snake, moving quickly. 20 Said He: "Take hold of it, and fear not: We shall restore it to its former state. 21 Now clasp thy hand to thy arm-pit; it shall come forth white, without evil. That is a second sign. 22 "In order that We may show thee (two) of our Greater Signs. 23 Go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 24
