T H (Taa Haa)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ TA HA. 1 We have not sent the Quran down to you to distress you, 2 but only as an exhortation for him who fears God; 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the heavens on high. 4 (Allah) Most Gracious is firmly established on the throne (of authority). 5 To Him belongs what is in the heavens and on earth, and all between them, and all beneath the soil. 6 Whether you say a thing aloud or inaudibly, He has knowledge of the secret and the hidden. 7 Allah-- there is no god but He; His are the very best names. 8 Has the story of Moses reached you? 9 When he saw a fire, he said to his family: "Wait! Verily, I have seen a fire, perhaps I can bring you some burning brand therefrom, or find some guidance at the fire." 10 When he came to it, a voice called out: "Moses! 11 I am your Lord. Take off your shoes, for you are in Towa, the sacred valley. 12 I have chosen you as My Messengers. Listen to the revelation. 13 Verily I! I am Allah! no God there is but I; so worship Me, and establish prayer for My remembrance. 14 The Hour of Resurrection is coming. I have willed to keep the time of its coming hidden so that everyone may be recompensed in accordance with his effort. 15 “Therefore never let one, who does not accept faith in it and follows his own desires, prevent you from accepting this, so then you become ruined.” 16 "And what is that in the right hand, O Moses?" 17 He said: "This is my stick, whereon I lean, and wherewith I beat down branches for my sheep, and wherein I find other uses." 18 Said He: "Throw it down, O Moses!" 19 So he threw it down, and all of a sudden, it turned into a fast-moving serpent. 20 Allah said:"Grasp it, and fear not, We shall return it to its former state, 21 "And press your (right) hand to your (left) side, it will come forth white (and shining), without any disease as another sign, 22 "In order that We may show thee (two) of our Greater Signs. 23 Go to Pharaoh, he has become insolent' 24
