T H (Taa Haa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta Ha. 1 We have not sent the Quran down to you to distress you, 2 Except as a reminder for one who fears. 3 A down-sent from Him who Created the earth and the heavens high. 4 the Merciful willed to the Throne. 5 To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth, and whatever lies in between them, and all that lies under the ground. 6 And if thou speakest aloud, then lo! He knoweth the secret (thought) and (that which is yet) more hidden. 7 Allah – there is no worship except for Him; His only are the best names. 8 And has the story of Moses reached you? - 9 Lo! he saw a fire [in the desert]; and so he said to his family: "Wait here! Behold, I perceive a fire [far away]: perhaps I can bring you a brand there from, or find at the fire some guidance." 10 So when he came to it, a voice was uttered: O Musa: 11 Verily I! I am thy Lord: so take off thy shoes; verily thou art into the holy valley, Tuwa. 12 And I! I have chosen thee, hearken thou then to that which shall be revealed. 13 Indeed, I am Allah. There is no god except Me. Worship Me, and establish the prayer of My remembrance. 14 The Hour is coming. But I choose to keep it hidden, so that every human being may be recompensed in accordance with his labours. 15 Therefor, let not him turn thee aside from (the thought of) it who believeth not therein but followeth his own desire, lest thou perish. 16 "And what is that in your right hand, O Musa (Moses)?" 17 He said: "This is my stick, whereon I lean, and wherewith I beat down branches for my sheep, and wherein I find other uses." 18 He said: 'Moses, cast it down' 19 So he cast it down, and thereupon it turned into a sliding serpent. 20 God said, "Take hold of it, and have no fear: We shall return it to its former state. 21 "Now draw thy hand close to thy side: It shall come forth white (and shining), without harm (or stain),- as another Sign,- 22 That We may show thee (some) of Our greater portents, 23 “Go to Firaun, he has rebelled.” 24
