'Lord' said Moses, 'expand my chest, 25 “And make my task easy for me.” 26 and loosen the knot from my tongue 27 “In order that they may understand my speech.” 28 “And appoint for me a viceroy from among my family.” 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 "Increase my strength with him, 31 and let him share my task 32 That we may hallow Thee oft. 33 and remember you often. 34 Verily Thou! Thou art of us ever a Beholder. 35 Said He: "Thou art granted all that thou hast asked for, O Moses! 36 Already another time We favoured thee, 37 Remember when We inspired your mother with a certain inspiration 38 Saying: Put him into a chest, then cast it down into the river, then the river shall throw him on the shore; there shall take him up one who is an enemy to Me and enemy to him, and I cast down upon you love from Me, and that you might be brought up before My eyes; 39 Recall when your sister walked along and said, "Shall I guide you to one who will take care of him?" Thus We returned you to your mother, so that her eyes might be cooled and that she might not grieve. And you killed a man and We delivered you from sorrow. We tested you with various trials. You stayed for a number of years among the people of Midian, then you came upto the standard, Moses. 40 And I produced you for Myself. 41 Go with My signs, you and your brother, and do not be lax in remembering Me. 42 Go both of you to the Pharaoh; he has become a rebel. 43 And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [Allah]." 44 They said: "O our Lord, we are really frightened lest he behave insolently with us or become violent." 45 He said: Fear not, surely I am with you both: I do hear and see. 46 Go to him and say, 'We are both messengers from your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not oppress them. We have brought you a Sign from your Lord, and may peace be upon whoever follows the right guidance; 47 Lo! it hath been revealed unto us that the doom will be for him who denieth and turneth away. 48 The Pharaoh asked them, "Who is your Lord?" 49 (Moses) said: "Our Lord is He who gave everything its natural form and directed it." 50 (Pharaoh) said: "What then is the condition of previous generations?" 51 Moses replied, "The knowledge about it is with my Lord in the Book. My Lord is free from error and forgetfulness. 52 HE IT IS who has made the earth a cradle for you, and has traced out for you ways [of livelihood] thereon, and [who] sends down waters from the sky: and by this means We bring forth various kinds of plants. 53 Eat (for yourselves) and pasture your cattle: verily, in this are Signs for men endued with understanding. 54
