He said: O my Lord! Expand my breast for me, 25 Make my task easy 26 and loosen the knot from my tongue 27 That they may understand my saying. 28 "And give me a Minister from my family, 29 Aaron, my brother; 30 By him confirm my strength 31 and let him share my task, 32 That we may hallow Thee oft. 33 “And profusely remember You.” 34 Indeed, You are of us ever Seeing." 35 He said: Thou art granted thy request, O Moses. 36 We have bestowed Our favour on you before this 37 When We inspired unto thy mother that which We inspired, 38 Saying: Put him into a chest, then cast it down into the river, then the river shall throw him on the shore; there shall take him up one who is an enemy to Me and enemy to him, and I cast down upon you love from Me, and that you might be brought up before My eyes; 39 What time thy sister was walking along and saying: shall I direct you unto one who will take care of him? Thus We returned thee to thy mother that she might cool her eyes and she might not grieve. And thou slewest a person, but We delivered thee from sorrow, and We tried thee with several trials. Then thou tarriedst for years among the people of Madyan then thou camest according to fate, O Musa! 40 And I have attached thee to Myself. 41 "Go you and your brother with My Ayat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.), and do not, you both, slacken and become weak in My Remembrance. 42 Go both of you to Pharaoh, for he has transgressed all bounds, 43 And speak to him with gentle speech that perhaps he may be reminded or fear [Allah]." 44 The two [brothers] said: "O our Sustainer! Verily, we fear lest he act hastily with regard to us, or lest he [continue to] transgress all bounds of equity." 45 God said, "Do not fear; I am with you both. I hear and I see. 46 So, go to him, and say: 'Behold, both of us are the Messengers of your Lord. Let the Children of Israel go with us, and do not chastise them. We have come to you with a sign from your Lord; and peace shall be for him who follows the true guidance. 47 It has been revealed to us that punishment will befall him who denies and turns away. 48 He asked: "Who then is that Lord of yours, O Moses?" 49 They replied, "Our Lord is the One Who has created all things and has given guidance". 50 Said [Pharaoh]: "And what of all the past generations?" 51 He said, “Their knowledge is with my Lord, (recorded) in a Book; my Lord neither strays nor forgets.” 52 Who made the earth for you an expanse and made for you therein paths and sent down water from the cloud; then thereby We have brought forth many species of various herbs. 53 Eat and pasture your cattle: verily therein are signs for men of sagacity. 54
