[Musa (Moses)] said: "O my Lord! Open for me my chest (grant me self-confidence, contentment, and boldness). 25 And ease for me my affair. 26 And untie the knot from my tongue 27 That they may understand my speech, 28 "And appoint for me a helper from my family, 29 Aaron, my brother. 30 Strengthen me through him 31 and let him share my task, 32 that we may abundantly extol Your glory; 33 and remember You abundantly. 34 "For Thou art He that (ever) regardeth us." 35 He said: You are indeed granted your petition, O Musa 36 "And indeed, We bestowed Our favour upon thee at a time long since past, 37 when We revealed what was to be made known to your mother, 38 "Saying: 'Put him (the child) into the Tabut (a box or a case or a chest) and put it into the river (Nile), then the river shall cast it up on the bank, and there, an enemy of Mine and an enemy of his shall take him.' And I endued you with love from Me, in order that you may be brought up under My Eye, 39 [And We favored you] when your sister went and said, 'Shall I direct you to someone who will be responsible for him?' So We restored you to your mother that she might be content and not grieve. And you killed someone, but We saved you from retaliation and tried you with a [severe] trial. And you remained [some] years among the people of Madyan. Then you came [here] at the decreed time, O Moses. 40 “And I created you especially for Myself.” 41 Go thou and thy brother with My signs, and slacken not in remembrance of Mine. 42 "Go, both of you, to Pharaoh, for he has indeed transgressed all bounds; 43 And speak unto him a gentle word, that peradventure he may heed or fear. 44 They said: "Our Lord! Verily! We fear lest he should hasten to punish us or lest he should transgress (all bounds against us)." 45 He (Allah) said: "Fear not, verily! I am with you both, hearing and seeing. 46 So go you both to Pharaoh, and say, "We are the Messengers of thy Lord, so send forth with us the Children of Israel and chastise them not; we have brought thee a sign from thy Lord; and peace be upon him who follows the guidance! 47 It has been revealed to us that chastisement awaits those who called the lie to the truth and turned away from it.' " 48 (Pharaoh) said: Who then is the Lord of you twain, O Moses? 49 'Our Lord' he replied, 'is He Who gave everything its creation and then guided it' 50 He then asked, "What do you know about the past generations?" 51 [Moses] said, "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord in a record. My Lord neither errs nor forgets." 52 He who appointed the earth to be a cradle for you, and therein threaded roads for you, and sent down water out of heaven, and therewith We have brought forth divers kinds of plants. 53 Eat, and graze your cattle; indeed in this are signs for people of intellect. 54
